(English) Taga Taisha Shrine

(English) Taga Taisha is a shrine with a history so long, it is even mentioned in Japan's oldest historical written work, the Kojiki. The shrine was once so frequently visited that a "monthly pilgrimage to Great Taga" was mentioned in poems of the time. Even today, the stream of visitors seeking blessings from deities of longevity and matchmaking continues unabated.
