Kashin Osuga Japanese Sweets

We make Hikone's emblematic traditional sweet, the "Sanju Gomankoku," wrapped in soft mochi with carefully selected, high quality sweet red beans for our bean paste, giving it just the right amount of sweetness. It was Hikone's own castle lord, Naosuke Ii, who opened Japan to the outside world after its period of isolation (the stipend for Hikone Domain during Naosuke Ii's time was 350,000 (sanju goman koku of rice), and these sweets are carefully produced with this image in mind.
