Okamura Sake
Hikone Castle was once the residence of the Ii family of Hikone Domain, with their great stipend of 35 koku.
The refined sake, "Konki," gets its name from the castle, whose other name is Konki Castle. "Konki" literally means "golden turtle," which has also long been prized as a symbol of longevity and happiness, and can be found with the god of sake at Kyoto's famous Matsuo Taisha Shrine.
