(English) Enjo-ji Temple
(English) Hikone's second castle lord, Naotaka Ii built Enjo-ji Temple for his mother, to grant her happiness and enlightenment in the next world. Enjo-ji is the only temple in Shiga Prefecture to contain a standing statue of Amidha Buddha made by the master sculptor, Kaikei, and also contains 13 other scultped buddhist figures within one of the temple buildings.
